The National Day of Romania is on the 1 December (Union Day, unification with Transylvania 1918). The National Day of Romania is also called the Great Union Day, is celebrated on December 1st each year. This day celebrates the unification of Transylvania, Bessarabia, and Bukovina with the Romanian Kingdom in 1918. Likewise this then led to the formation of Greater Romania.
National Day of Qatar
The National Day of Qatar is on the 18 December (Official National Day; the assumption of power of Sheikh Jassem bin Mohamed al-Thani in 1878). Founder’s day celebrates the rise to power of Sheikh Jassem bin Mohamed bin Thani. Jassem is usually regarded as the father of the state of Qatar.
National Day of Puerto Rico
The National Day of Puerto Rico is on the 25th July (Constitution Day, establishment of Commonwealth of Puerto Rico 1952. Formerly Invasion Day (1898)). The 4th August 1952 of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico established a full state holiday annually on the 25th July to be known as Puerto Rico Constitution Day.
National Day of Portugal
The National Day of Portugal is on the 10 June (Portugal Day, “Day of Camões, Portugal, and the Portuguese Communities”, National Poet Luís de Camões dies in 1580). The National Day of Portugal, also known as “Portugal Day” or “Day of Portugal, Camões, and the Portuguese Communities”, is celebrated annually on the 10th June.
National Day of Poland
The National Day of Poland is on the 3 May (Święto Konstytucji 3 Maja, Constitution Day, 1791). Also the 11th November. (Święto Niepodległości, Independence Day which was the restoration of independence from Austro-Hungary (National Day of Hungary), Prussia, and Russia (National Day of Hungary) in 1918.
National Day of Philippines
The National Day of the Philippines, also known as “Araw ng Kalayaan” or “Independence Day”, is celebrated on the 12th June. The day celebrates the country’s independence from Spanish colonial rule on the 12th June 1898. Read below on the history of the country and their day of independence.

National Day of Palestine
The National Day of Palestine is on the 15 November. As you will note that the National Day of Palestine is celebrated annually on the 15th November. This to celebrate the declaration of independence of Palestine in 1988. The day is also known as Independence Day or Yawm al Istiqlal in Arabic.
National Day of Palau
The National Day of Palau is on the 9th July (Constitution Day, the world’s first nuclear-free constitution 1981; “nuclear-free” dropped in 1994 in order to become an associated state to the United States in the Compact of Free Association).
National Day of Pakistan
The National Day of Pakistan is on the 23 March (Republic Day, Islamic republic in 1956), 14 August (Independence Day, independence from the British Indian Empire in 1947).
National Day of Oman
The National Day of Oman is on the 18 November. This being the birthday of Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said of Oman. See the history on the national day of Oman here. It marks the anniversary of the country’s independence from Portugal in 1650, as well as the birthday of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who ruled Oman from 1970 until his death in 2020.

The National Day of Norway is on the 17 May (Constitution Day, the signing of the first Norwegian Constitution in Eidsvoll 1814). Likewise this is known as “Norway’s Constitution Day,” which as stated is celebrated annually on the 17th May year. This is for the signing of Norway’s constitution on the 17th May 1814, which established Norway as an independent nation.
