National Day of Kuwait

The National Day of Kuwait is celebrated annually on the 25th February. This day is to celebrate the country’s independence from British rule in 1961, as well as the ascension of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah to the throne as the country’s first Emir.

Finally in addition to the National Day, Kuwait also celebrates Liberation Day on February 26th, which marks the end of the Gulf War and the country’s liberation from Iraqi occupation in 1991.
