The National Day of Hong Kong has a very strange name. Its called the “Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day”. This is celebrated annually in the 1st July. This marks the transfer of sovereignty of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to the People’s Republic of China in 1997.
