National Day of Thailand

National Day of Thailand

The National Day of Thailand is on the 5th December (birthday of King Bhumibol Adulyadej). This holiday is celebrated with much fanfare in Thailand each year. If you are looking for a Thai Embassy then look here or a Thai visa then you can also see here. Public holidays for Thailand have been listed below.

There are a number of other good websites about Thailand such as  Bangkok Nightlife as a Thai law firm as well. Below you will note the national anthem of Thailand. This also has the Thai and English translations of the Thai National Anthem.

National Anthem of Thailand

เพลงชาติไทย

Lyrics:

Thai (RTGS):

prà-thêt thai ruam lûeat-núea chât chúea thai,
pen prà-cha rát, phà-thai khŏng thai thúk sùan,
yù dam-rong khong wái dâi tháng muan,
dûay thai lúan măi, rák să-mák-khi,
thai ní rák sà-ngòp, tàe thŭeng róp mâi-khlàt,
èk-kà-rât chà mâi hâi khrai khòm khì,
sà-là lûeat thúk yàt pen chât phli,
thà-loeng prà-thêt chât thai thá-wi mi chai chá-yo.

English:

Thailand embraces in its bosom all people of Thai blood,
Every inch of Thailand belongs to the Thais.
It has long maintained its sovereignty,
Because the Thais have always been united.
The Thai people are peace-loving, But they are no cowards at war.
Nor shall they suffer tyranny.
All Thais are ready to give up every drop of blood,
For the nation’s safety, freedom and progress.
